Word on the street is that Tom Knox will be quitting the race for governor. The Daily News
reports today (Jan. 22) that the Philadelphia millionaire was negotiating with Dan Onorato, one of his rivals for the Democratic nomination, on details of his exit. Later, his exit was confirmed by
pa2010.com. Knox's departure will make it easier for Onorato, who is the Allegheny County chief executive. One strange aspect: In exchange for departing the race, Knox reportedly wants Onorato to name him to the state Liquor Control Board if he is elected governor. What is he thinking? I either want to be governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or I want to be the guy who makes the Chairman's Selections. How odd. How Knoxian.
