What About Me?

State Sen. Anthony Hardy Williams for governor? It seems implausible, but there he is in the Inquirer saying that folks (read: himself) have approached him and asked him to consider it. Williams is an astute politician.  He knows his chances of being elected are minimal.  But, the story is not really intended for the general public, it is there to send a message to the Democratic gubernatorial candidates out there.  William's message? I was supporting Tom Knox for governor. Knox has dropped out of the race. I am now open to endorsing another candidate. Come around and see me and we'll talk. Williams, who is African-American, is also positioning himself to be a power broker within the city.  Makes you wonder what Dwight Evans, Mayor Nutter and Chaka Fattah thought when they read that story.
