It's the
tale out of the Lower Merion School District about school officials spying on a 15-year-old student at Harriton High using the camera on his school-issued laptop. Each day brings a new twist. Today (Feb 20), the Inquirer
reported that officials at Harriton High called the boy in and cited their webcam spying on him as evidence that he was using drugs. To them, it looked like the boy was sitting at his computer popping pills. The boy says he was eating Mike & Ike's. Oops. Well, they looked like drugs! In the same story came word that federal prosecutors are looking into the cyber-spying. A legal/ethical/public relations nightmare for the school district.
