The Democratic congressman from Johnstown was 77. He died today (Feb.8) in a hospital in Washington, D.C., where he had been a patient following sugery last week. On the Hill, Murtha was known to his critics as the "King of Pork" and was famous for using his clout as a senior member on the Armed Services Committee to bring money and project to his district in western Pennsylvania.
