Facing a big hole in his budget caused by pension payments due, Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl has added a "Me, too!" to the Nutter administration's idea of imposing a two-cent-an-ounce tax on sugary drinks. The mayor says he is willing to consider such a tax -- among a panoply of other ideas -- to get his budget out of the red. Pittsburgh has a huge problem with its pension plan -- it is underfunded to an alarming degree and Ravenstahl is looking for something, anything to raise so more money to fund it. Initial reaction to the idea: cool to frigid.
