Casino Fracas Royale

The state board that oversees casino gambling is running out of patience with the owners of the would-be Foxwoods Casino in South Philadelphia. On Thursday (April 29), the board began the process of revoking the license of the Foxwood investor group to build and manage a casino, citing repeated delays in getting the project off the ground.  Originally, the casino on the Delaware waterfront was supposed to open in May 2011, but that looks undoable. In addition to community opposition, the investors faced the loss of their original partner, the Mashantucket Pequot, but that never panned out.  Recently, they partnered with Los Vegas casino operator Steve Wynn, but he backed out suddenly earlier this month.
