And drink up.  The Inquirer Sunday (April 25) pronounced Mayor Nutter's proposed sugary-drink tax DOA.  There isn't support in Council for the tax, according to the report, and industry and Teamster lobbying against the tax has done its magic.  Meanwhile, remember the trash tax? That is DOA, too.  Council seems more inclined to handle this year's budget through a combination of a 12 percent increase in the real estate tax and freezing unfilled positions in the city's workforce. But, stay tuned -- there are still a lot of twists and turns to come before it settles.
