It's hard to write about your boss, so Chris Hepp deserves credit for the piece he did Sunday (April 18) about the impending auction of the Inquirer and Daily News. The papers are in bankruptcy and the article lays out the whys and wherefores of the bidding process.  The auction is due to take place April 27, supervised by the bankruptcy court. Two figures stand out. One is the original purchase price: the current owners, led by Brian Tierney, paid $515 million for the media company four years ago.  The other is the company's estimated value today, which various experts quoted in the story put at between $60 million and $86 million.
