Joe Sestak's first ad of the campaign season is up and running. It is a 60-second affair -- long by TV standards -- that combines a Sestak biography with a pitch for health care reform. It includes a large number of shots of the U.S. Senate candidate in uniform (He was a lifer in the U.S. Navy), a mention of his daughter's life-threatening illness and a swipe at unnamed politicians who are only interested in holding onto their jobs. Wonder who that could be? Basic message: Democrats, if you need a hero, I am your guy. This ad serves as counterpoint to the Specter "No Show Joe" ad that also went up this week.
