The Washington media, with its hyper-sensitive tendrils, have detected the Obama folks stepping away -- every so slightly -- from Arlen Specter. Is this a surprise? They can read poll results as well as anyone else and can see the incumbent U.S. Senator could be sinking.
Politico tells us that Obama is steering clear of a "shaky Specter" and nixed a last-minute personal visit to campaign for the newly minted Democrat. Meanwhile,
TPM says that tells the White House is looking at a "surging Sestak."
FiveThirtyEight opines that Specter is not a strong candidate. Finally, Ed Rendell (Et tu, Brute?) tells
Politico that a Sestak election won't be a disaster for the party but he's still behind Specter. Also, it's raining in Philadelphia and is expected to continue all day. That last fact may be the most damaging to the incumbent.
