Election Eve May 2010

Had enough Robocalls? The Arlen Specter campaign unleashed one more over the weekend: a personal plea from President Obama. One of the last polls -- the Muhlenberg/Allentown Morning Call tracking poll -- showed Specter tied with Joe Sestak, his opponent in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate. The same poll showed a passel of undecideds in the Democatic gubernatorial race, with Allegheny County's Dan Onorato still ahead by a comfortable margin.  In a low-turnout year (which this is likely to be) and with so many undecideds, (26 percent in the governor's race and 11 percent in the Senate race) May 18 could be an interesting and surprising day. The phone is ringing. Could it be Queen Elizabeth for Specter?
