The forecast for Primary Election Day (May 18) in most media markets calls for stormy weather. Lots of rain in
Philadelphia and
Pittsburgh and
Harrisburg and..well, almost everywhere. No one talks much about weather as a factor in elections, but it certainly is. Wet weather depresses turnout. And turnout was expected to be low to begin with. People who should be concerned about rain: any frontrunner -- and that includes Democrat Dan Onorato and Republican Tom Corbett. They have soft support among voters, due mostly to their ID. But, if the fired up supporters of Anthony Williams, Joe Hoeffel, Jack Wagner, Sam Rohrer, et al. brave the rain drops their votes will be magnified.
